Our mission to help people has always extended far beyond life insurance. A big part of our corporate culture is giving back to our community through volunteer fundraising, charities and scholarships. We’re proud of our ongoing charitable efforts. 2022 highlights include:
Annual Charitable Giving Campaign
In 2022, between our employees’ efforts and company match, LGA raised over $800,000 through its Annual Charitable Giving Campaign, which ran from October 17th to October 28th, 2022. We raised money through LGA spirit competitions, ticketed events, sponsored activities, and salary donations.
Some of our local sponsored charities have included:
Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County | Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP) of Frederick County | America’s VetDogs | Second Chances Garage | ThanksUSA | Heartly House | CureSearch for Children's Cancer | Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary
NAILBA Charitable Foundation We’re a proud charter member of the National Association of Independent Life Insurance Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA) Charitable Foundation,
which supports local charities throughout the United States. LGA makes annual donations to the foundation — over the past few years, we've donated over $200,000.
Life HappensSince 2019, we’ve sponsored a Life Lessons scholarship, which recognizes students for their perseverance following the loss of a parent or guardian with little or no life insurance coverage; in 2021, increased our scholarship amount to $20,000.
"CureSearch is very appreciative of partners like Legal and General America who help accelerate cures for kids with cancer. Thanks to the generosity of the employees at Legal and General America, you are helping to fund a Phase I clinical trial for hard-to-treat childhood brain tumors. I was moved by the generosity and support of CureSearch."
National Director, Campaign Development, CureSearch for Children's Cancer
