If you'd like to speak with a financial professional or licensed life insurance agent to get some advice, find an agency near you.
When choosing an agent, you want to select someone who listens well and will take the time to understand your unique goals. When you ask a licensed agent or financial advisor for help, there are no additional costs or charges relating to the purchase of life insurance, whether you choose that agent or an online service. An agent will recommend our life insurance products when, in his or her professional opinion, our products are most appropriate for your personal or business life insurance needs.
Step 1. Get a quote. Term life insurance is the most affordable type of life insurance. Most people overestimate the cost of life insurance by up to three times!
Step 2. Speak with an advisor and complete an application for life insurance.
Step 3. As part of the application process, you will usually receive a free medical evaluation in your own home or your choice of location. The exam will include measurement of your height, weight, blood pressure and pulse rate; collection of blood and urine specimens; and in some cases, an electrocardiogram (EKG) and/or a medical history report.
Step 4. All of the information you have provided will be reviewed during the underwriting process. If approved, your final health class and premium (price for your policy) will be determined.
Step 5. Once you have been approved, you will receive a copy of your policy and you will be able to provide all of the final signatures necessary to activate your policy and submit your initial premium payment.
Your life insurance coverage is not in effect until your application is approved, and any outstanding policy requirements and your first premium payment have been received by us. Approval is not guaranteed.
